The Avon Valley Line from Bristol to Bath Green Park and the Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway from Bath Green Park to Bournemouth both closed on 7th March 1966. I travelled on them two weeks before, more interested now in the railway scene than in engines per se. The pictures in this series raise issues about the nature of memory
There was, however, no question about the locations of the previous two pictures: Bristol Temple Meads and Fishponds
And these two show the kind of images I was beginning to respond to - reinforced by CT Gifford's pictures in 'Decline of Steam' which a school colleague had out of the library
