My grandparents' house in Bristol was a great jumping-off point for any number of expeditions. This is the Old Station at Bristol Temple Meads before it was turned into a car park. By 1965 I was fully equipped with anorak and a duffel bag, complete with sew-on badges from places I'd visited - you can see it on the end of the bench in the foreground
My main destination from Bristol was South Wales and the first shed to visit was always Severn Tunnel Junction
I also made it to Gloucester from Bristol - Collett 2242 (left) was there at Horton Rd shed. The two on the right were taken during my first of three David Perry railtours and were at Worcester - 1420 (now on the South Devon Railway) definitely and 45058. I think.
